
The Election Commission of Pakistan has set Feb 15 for Islamabad’s local government elections. Polling will run from 8 am to 4 pm. The schedule outlines all key steps for candidates and officials.
The ECP said Returning Officers will display public notices for nomination papers on Dec 19. Nomination papers will be received from Dec 22 to Dec 27. Moreover, officials have urged aspiring candidates to follow the timeline closely. The commission aims to ensure an orderly and transparent process.

Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from Dec 30 to Jan 3. Appeals can then be filed from Jan 5 to Jan 8. Furthermore, tribunals will decide these appeals between Jan 9 and Jan 13. This step will finalize the eligibility of all contestants.
The last day to withdraw nomination papers is Jan 15. The ECP will publish the final list of candidates on Jan 16. Election symbols will also be allotted on the same day. As a result, campaigns are expected to intensify after the final list is issued.

Polling will be held on Feb 15 across Islamabad. Results will be compiled from Feb 16 to Feb 19. The commission expects a smooth administrative process. Additionally, political parties have already started preparing for the polls.
