Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) has finalized the location for a new air traffic control (ATC) tower and fire station at Karachi Airport, marking a major step in modernizing airport operations.
The construction will be carried out by M/s M.M. Pakistan in collaboration with Spanish companies Camosa and Fair Banks Architects. The design phase was completed within six months, and construction is expected to take two years.

The new ATC tower will feature advanced technology to improve flight management, while the fire station will enhance emergency response capabilities, ensuring better safety for both passengers and airport staff.
Meanwhile, a modern monitoring system will be installed at immigration counters in Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA), Lahore. This system aims to streamline passenger processing and reduce delays during check-ins and flight clearance.

The monitoring system will track passenger immigration, flight check-in times, and clearance procedures, providing complete data on arrivals and departures. It will also help prevent unnecessary passenger offloading and address slow immigration processes efficiently.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that these initiatives reflect a commitment to improving airport infrastructure, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring a safer and smoother travel experience for all passengers.
