
Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to strengthen their strategic economic partnership. The announcement came during a meeting between Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and UAE Ambassador Salem Al Zaabi in Islamabad. Both sides emphasized expanding trade, investment, and technological cooperation to benefit both countries.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb welcomed UAE investments in ports, digital banking, and logistics. He said Pakistan is committed to increasing brotherly economic ties with the UAE. The minister also highlighted opportunities in IT, AI, fintech, agriculture, and minerals, aiming to boost bilateral business relations.

The meeting also focused on improving travel and business facilitation between the countries. Aurangzeb suggested that enhanced mobility and streamlined visa processes will strengthen trade and investment links. Both sides expressed interest in increasing defense cooperation and professional training exchanges to deepen mutual understanding.

Aurangzeb noted that Pakistan’s economic indicators are improving. He said foreign reserves are stable, inflation is reducing, and the currency trend is positive. The finance minister added that Pakistan is moving toward growth led by the private sector and emphasized the importance of UAE partnership in this journey.

Ambassador Salem Al Zaabi praised Pakistani professionals for their contribution to the UAE’s development. He confirmed that the UAE will continue facilitating visas for Pakistanis and plans to open a new visa center to speed processing. The ambassador said historical relations between Pakistan and the UAE will further strengthen in the coming years.
