Intelligence agencies also detained the tailor who worked on the explosive vest used in the attack. Investigators revealed that the suicide jacket was prepared in Peshawar, with explosive materials delivered there prior to assembly. The facilitator reportedly transported the vest to Islamabad hidden inside a sack of jaggery and stored it under a tree for three days before taking it to the tailor for adjustments. Sources say the tailor was aware that the vest was intended for a suicide attack.
The arrested suspect has confessed to links with Fitna al-Khawarij, the extremist network believed to be behind the attack. Officials indicated that the network supporting the bomber was larger than initially thought, with multiple individuals providing logistical and operational support.
