Officials stated that the decision aims to safeguard human lives and prevent potential terrorist threats. The restrictions, however, do not apply to weddings, funerals, or official duties of government personnel and courts.
The Home Department noted that large gatherings could be targeted by terrorists and announced public awareness campaigns to inform citizens about the continued enforcement of Section 144, which will remain in effect until November 8, 2025.
