ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has strongly rejected the Afghan Taliban’s claim that Islamabad refused Kabul’s offer to deport terrorists operating against Pakistan, calling the statement “false and misleading.”
In an official post on X, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said Pakistan “categorically rejects the deliberate twisting of facts” made by Afghan Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid about the recent Istanbul talks. The ministry clarified that Pakistan had demanded the control or arrest of terrorists present in Afghanistan who threaten its security.

“When the Afghan side claimed these individuals were Pakistani nationals, Pakistan immediately proposed that they be handed over through designated border crossings,” the statement added. “Any claim to the contrary is baseless and misleading.”
Earlier, Zabihullah Mujahid told Afghan media that Islamabad declined Kabul’s offer to deport people considered a security threat, insisting instead that the Islamic Emirate keep them under control within Afghanistan.

The clarification comes as Pakistan and Afghanistan agreed to continue a ceasefire, with another meeting scheduled for November 6, 2025, in Istanbul to finalize implementation mechanisms. The Istanbul talks, held from October 25 to 30 and mediated by Türkiye and Qatar, aimed to consolidate the Doha ceasefire deal and set up a joint monitoring and verification framework.
