The Home Department explained that the extension aims to protect public safety and prevent violence. Officials said the decision follows recommendations from the 38th Cabinet Committee on Law and Order meeting. They stressed the need to maintain peace and order throughout the province.
Some exceptions apply to the ban, including weddings, funerals, official government duties, and court sessions. Security officials warned that public gatherings could become soft targets for terrorists. They also cautioned against misuse of protests by anti-state elements to cause unrest.
