The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a second letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC). In this letter, PCB repeated its demand to remove match referee Andy Pycroft from the ongoing T20 Asia Cup. PCB believes Pycroft failed to take fair action against India during a recent match. According to PCB, his behavior broke the spirit of cricket. They want ICC to take action under the Code of Conduct.
This new letter follows an earlier complaint made just a day ago. PCB insists that Pycroft showed bias during the India vs Pakistan match. Sources claim Pycroft ignored India’s unsporting behavior on purpose. PCB argues that this has damaged the fairness of the tournament. They are calling for Pycroft’s immediate removal from his position.
Meanwhile, today’s scheduled match between Pakistan and UAE remains uncertain. So far, no official decision has been made about the match. PCB says they are still discussing the situation with tournament officials. A final call will be made based on Pakistan’s best interests. Tension around the issue continues to grow as the clock ticks down.
Reports from Indian media claim ICC has rejected PCB’s demand. However, PCB has not confirmed this yet. The situation got worse when Indian players refused to shake hands after their win. PCB said the match referee told both teams not to shake hands. Captain Salman Ali Agha skipped the post-match ceremony in protest.
If Pakistan boycotts the match, UAE will earn points and move to the Super Four stage. If Pakistan plays and wins, they will qualify instead. That would set up another match against India.
