LAHORE – At least three people including two policemen and an employee of a private TV channel were injured when it was targeted by a hand grenade attack on Tuesday. Police officials said that unidentified miscreants hurled a hand grenade inside Din Media Group office located in Gulberg area of the provincial capital. As a result of the blast two policemen deployed for the security and an employee of the TV channel were injured. The attackers managed to escape from the scene. The law enforcement agencies rushed the scene of the attack and shifted the wounded people to hospital for treatment. It is worth to mention that it was the second attack on news channels in the country in less than a week as earlier on November 27 a satellite engineer was wounded when unknown gunmen opened fire on Dawn News DSNG vehicle in Karachi. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid and various journalist organisations strongly condemned the increasing incidents of attacks on media and warned of holding protests if the culprits were not brought to book at the earliest.
