ISLAMABAD: Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in 28 operations arrested 29 drug suppliers while striking at Islamabad, Attock, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Kohat, Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Quetta and Kech. During the operations, the ANF recovered 49,750,000 heroin doses, 1,758,850,000 hashish doses and 7.5 kilogrammes of opium having street value of Rs 84.12 billion and seized five vehicles. The ANF began Anti-Drug Drive in this month and conducted 56 operations while recovering drugs worth Rs 84.14 billion and arrested 60 drug suppliers to youth and educational institutions. According to reports, ANF Rawalpindi conducted an information-based raid near CDA Chowk, main IJP Road in Islamabad and arrested a local drug supplier. The complete search of accused resulted in recovery of 700 grammes of heroin from the personal possession of the accused. As per initial information, the accused was involved in drug supply to the nearby educational institutions. The ANF Rawalpindi recovered 1.2 kilogrammes of hashish during an operation carried out at Shaheed Fahim Abbas Naqvi Chowk, Safe CNG Station and Attock City. The accused namely Sardar Muhammad who is a resident of Attock was also arrested on the spot. Similarly, ANF Rawalpindi carried out another information-based operation and intercepted a car a motorcycle in Attock and recovered 1.1 kilogrammes of heroin. Two persons onboard identified as Aitbar Ullah, resident of Swabi and Zaheer Ashraf, resident of Sialkot were also taken into custody during the operation. In another operation carried out at DHL Courier Service Islamabad Office, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a parcel being sent to Canada and recovered 190 grammes of heroin. The drug was concealed inside a ladies purse. The ANF also conducted a raid near Chungi no 26 on GT Road, Rawalpindi and recovered one kilogramme of opium and one kilogramme of hashish from personal possession of a lady arrested on the spot. At the same location, the ANF arrested a local drug supplier and recovered 3.6 kilogrammes of hashish from possession of the accused. Meanwhile, the ANF conducted a raid near a petrol pump of Mandi Morr, Islamabad and recovered 1.235 kilogrammes of heroin from possession of an accused who was arrested on the spot. In another operation, the ANF Rawalpindi conducted a raid at GT Road Haji Shah Morr Bus Stop, Attock and recovered one kilogramme of heroin from possession of arrested lady identified as Mahnoor, resident of Peshawar. The ANF Rawalpindi in another operation conducted a raid near Bansuan Wala Chowk, Bagh Sardsara, Rawalpindi and recovered 500 garmmes of heroin from the personal possession of the lady drug supplier arrested during the raid. Similarly, the ANF conducted an information-based raid in another operation at Hashmi Green Café near Golra Morr service road in sector G11, Islamabad and recovered 250 grammes of heroin. A person onboard was arrested on the spot. On a separate note, ANF Peshawar also conducted an information-based raid near Dalazak Chowk, Charsadda Road, Peshawar and intercepted a car and recovered 3.6 kilogrammes of hashish concealed inside the vehicle. Two persons identified as Izazullah Shah and Shehryar, residents of Peshawar were arrested on the spot. As a result of initial investigation, another raid was conducted in nearby localities which resulted in arrest of another accused namely Mansoor Khan who is a resident of Khyber Agency. In another operation, ANF Peshawar raided a house belonging to Syed Nawaz Ali Shah in Mohallah Haidery Sayian Wadpage, Peshawar and recovered 600 grammes of hashish from the house. The house was unattended and no arrest could be made. The ANF Peshawar in another raid intercepted a car at new toll plaza of Indus Highway, Kohat and recovered 1.2 kilogrammes of hashish, which was concealed inside the vehicle. A person identified as Muhammad Khan, resident of Orakzai Agency was arrested on the spot. Another car was intercepted near GAP CNG, Nawaan Kalay, Bara Road, Peshawar and 6.25 kilogrammes of opium and 12.5 kilogrammes of hashish were recovered. A person onboard namely Mukamil Khan, resident of Mardan was arrested on the spot. Similarly, in another raid, ANF intercepted a motorcycle at Kohat Adda, Kohat Road, Peshawar and recovered 10 kilogrammes of hashish. Two persons riding the motorcycle identified as Muhammad Ishaq and Shakeel were arrested on the spot. Similarly, ANF Karachi conducted a raid at premises nearby Sachal Goth, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, Karachi and recovered 1.2 kilogrammes of hashish from personal possession of a local drug supplier Amir Ali who was also arrested on the spot. In an operation, ANF Karachi conducted an information-based raid in an abandoned area located at Hub River Road near Musharraf Colony, Karachi and recovered 536.63 kilogrammes of hashish. Many other raids were conducted in the city of Karachi and Quetta by the ANF as a result of which huge quantity of drugs were recovered. All cases have been registered at respective ANF police stations and further investigations are underway.
