KARACHI: A gang comprising five members involved in committing house robberies wearing police uniforms was rounded up by Toori Bangash police of Orangi Town on Thursday. The gang was most active in the areas of Pakistan Bazar, Iqbal Market and Toori Bangash along with other localities of Orangi Town, the police informed . The arrested accused included Kamal, Zubair, Hammad, Omair and Arsalan who were rounded up during a search operation carried out by police in Orangi Town. “They have committed as many as over twelve house robberies in recent days and people of the area had also staged a protest against the incidents few days ago” said Imran Gujjar Incharge Toori Bangash Police Post. He further added that the gang collectively comprised on Six members but one member namely Shadab in on the run and the police is after him to put him behind the bars. “They all are residents of Orangi Town and belonging to Bihari Community. They used to rob the houses by wearing Police uniforms for this the group used to send one of its member in police uniform in the selected area where after the complete reakee he would nock the door and portraying him self as police personal used to collect all the information of the house from women at homes” added Imran. Police has registered a case against the arrested suspects after recovering weapons and looted stuff from their custody and have initiated further probe.
