ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police along with Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies on Monday conducted search operation in various areas and arrested five suspects, a police source said. According to details, officials of Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operation in various areas of Nilore police station including Dhok Les, Charah, Dhok Mohri and Dhok Nul. During this search operation, five suspects were arrested and more than 100 houses were screened. Police recovered arms and ammunition from the nabbed persons and shifted them to police station for further investigation. Senior Superintendent Police Islamabad Sajid Kiani said that the purpose of this search operation is to ensure high vigilance in the city and every effort will be made to ensure protection of lives and property of the citizens. He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them. – ‘Special security measures till Eid’ – Islamabad Police have decided to ensure special deployment at various public as well as important locations of the city including shopping malls and markets. SSP Sajid Kiani has also finalised this plan and issued directions to deploy police contingents at important places, shopping centres and markets from this week till Chand Raat for the maximum safety and convenience to public. During the on-going week, Eid shopping will be at peak in the capital for which he has directed to beef up security arrangements and ensure effective patrolling as well as vigilance in the city. Special police contingents will perform duties at all important places while Police commandos will also be deployed. Patrolling agents include inspectors and ASPs. All the Police stations have been directed to ensure fool-proof security arrangements in their respective areas. In big markets and shopping centres, senior level police officials will monitor security duties. Lady police and commandoes will also perform duties there while Falcon vehicles, teams of QRF and Bravo vehicles will ensure security by patrolling in their assigned areas. Policemen in plain clothes will also keep vigilant eyes on car lifters and criminals while special ACLC teams will patrol in areas besides the entry and exit points of the capital. Sources said that special security arrangements would be in place to avert any untoward incidents.
