KARACHI: The Supreme Court refused petitioner Imran Shehzad’s appeal on Friday to form a joint investigation team (JIT) team for sufi qawwal Amjad Sabri murder case. During the hearing of the case, Shehzad said that he was working for a private firm and ran a non-governmental organisation (NGO) as well. The court remarked on this statement that should he be included in the JIT team to probe the artist’s murder? The court refused the appeal because Shahzad didn’t provide his job details on which the court also expressed anger. Sabri was a renowned qawwal who was shot dead in Karachi in June by armed assailants on a motorcycle in the metroplitian’s Liaquatabad area. Sabri was on his way to a private TV channel’s studio in Karachi when he was gunned down.
