PMNCH Knowledge Summaries Progress in women’s and children’s health depends on how efficiently knowledge on effective strategies and interventions can be translated into action. Working with partners, PMNCH regularly produces knowledge summaries that synthesize recent scientific evidence into a clear and concise, user-friendly format to support advocacy, policy and practice on issues related to reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health. Each peer-reviewed summary brings together information from trusted sources, such as journal articles, systematic reviews, technical guidelines and policy documents, to draw out practical lessons for policymakers and practitioners. The PMNCH Knowledge Summaries series is updated and revised as new knowledge and evidence emerges. PMNCH works actively with partners from different organizations and constituencies not only to develop the series, but also to ensure the summaries reach key stakeholders. Joshua Dilawar and other members of the Global Steering Committee of PMNCH – Knowledge Summary contributed actively to develop this year’s knowledge summary including members from World Health Organization, UNFPA, IPPF, FP2020, UN Women, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, International Youth Alliance for Family Planning, American University of Beirut, WomenStrong International, UNICEF, Uganda Youth and Adolescents Health Forum, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation etc. ISYD Launched the Knowledge Summary Report in Pakistan (Virtually) with a panel discussion. The panel was moderated by Ms. Tanzila Khan (Founder – GirlyThings.com) and was having a couple of Speakers which includes Ms. Charity Giyava from Zimbabwe and William Yeung, Reach Out from Australia. The panel discussed The meaning of meaningful adolescent engagement Importance of engaging adolescents to improve health and well-being The Challenges to meaningful adolescent engagement How national policy framework can support meaningful adolescent engagement and can draft new policies to ensure it Adolescents and young people should work together All the platforms that can promote the importance of meaningful adolescent engagement and meaningful youth participation Actions needed Ms. Tanzila moderated the panel and at the end she concluded the event by acknowledging PMNCH for their great efforts behind developing the Knowledge Summary. We hope that adolescent and youth of our society will get equal rights, meaningfully engaged and representation to bring positive and sustainable change in the world.
