Beyonce’s entire family have been tested for the coronavirus so they are able to celebrate Mother’s Day together. The revelation comes after the star’s mum, Tina Lawson, revealed the plan while speaking on US television. While the UK celebrate Mother’s Day in March, in the US the day falls on 10 May – and the Knowles/Carter family will spend it together after everyone, including sister Solange, tested negative. The family includes Solange’s 15-year-old son Daniel Jr, as well as rapper Jay Z and the children he shares with Beyonce, eight-year-old daughter Blue Ivy and two-year-old twins Rumi and Sir. Speaking on the Tamron Hall Show, Lawson said: “We all got tested. We’ve gotten the results back and everybody is okay so I hope that we can get together this Mother’s Day and have dinner together.” The designer revealed they had previously been isolating from one another which she said was giving her “the blues”. She said:“It makes me sad, especially on Sundays because that’s the day that we all get together. So on Sunday mornings I’ve got the blues.” The socially conscious mother-daughter duo recently teamed up to promote the #IDIDMYPART campaign which encourages residents of Beyonce’s home town, Houston, Texas, to get tested for coronavirus. A press release from the project reads: “The virus is wreaking havoc on the black community so we need a movement to prioritise our health. “It is critical that we stay vigilant with social distancing, wearing a mask, and most of all getting tested. “If you don’t get tested then you don’t know if you are a carrier of the virus.” Beyonce recently urged followers 145 million followers to contribute to the campaign, writing on Instagram: “The impact of this pandemic is far reaching, and it’s going to take each and everyone of us to help make a difference. “If one of the organisations we are supporting speaks to your heart, you can join us and contribute by clicking the link in my bio.”
