Published on: September 1, 2016 11:38 PM

PESHAWAR: The hall was full of clapping and blinking faces and giggles have brought happiness to people.

They were the people watching a theater drama named ‘Zimadari’ (Responsibility), at Nishtar Hall Peshawar. The main theme of the drama was moving around the busy life of a journalist, having no social life and moving here and there in search of news stories. Journalist couldn’t get time for his family and children and as a result mostly their children become terrorists.

While performing the role of a journalist, Afsar Afghan said that he performed around 18 plays in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All the plays were written on the social problems like good policing, ealth, child abuse and harassment, psychological problems, drug addiction and many more.

The solutions of such problems were performed through plays. Afghan said that drama is the platform where one can easily understand the problem and its solution instead of seminars and other such gathering. While talking to Daily Times Afsar Afghan revealed that he was performing his duty day and night and in search of news story moving here and there and get back to his home late night.

He was even unaware about his son’s routine life as a result his son joined the company of terrorists and eventually becomes a terrorist himself.

In theater the life of minorities and their problems were also shown, the people of Pakistan are considering Hindus of Pakistan as Indians while is vise versa.

“Whenever Pakistan Cricket team wins the cricket match against India, we the Muslims of Pakistan express the happiness in front of Pakistani Hindus that we are the winners and you people are the losers”, Shakeel Akhund expressed his words who was performing the role of a Hindu in the said play. The life of politicians was also shown in the drama. The politicians after losing the elections used to launch a NGO or social sectors to earn money from there. Same was the case here, a politician’s wife was running an organization in the name of social welfare or social betterment but in realities it was the way of earning more and more. The politician was busy in his politics and his wife was looting the innocent citizens through a non-government organization and both of them were unable to get time for their son as a results their son turns a bad boy and harassing girls of his college in car.

Atif Afzal, leading Aitebar theatre team said that he was happy to be the part of a team which bridged the gaps between the common people and police.
