Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights on Monday proposed to repatriate 194,000 Pakistanis stranded in China’s coronavirus-hit Wuhan city after completing their treatment. Briefing the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights, Director General Health said that 46 suspected cases of the Novel Corona virus have been tested so far at the National Institutes of Health but none of them was tested positive. Ministry of Foreign Affairs Special Secretary told the committee that Pakistanis residing in China are more secure there and we shouldn’t be worried about this. The members of the committee suggested the Prime Minister’s Core Committee on Coronavirus to repatriate Pakistanis residing in China. On the other hand, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Chairman Saleem Baig was also warned by the committee from exceeding his jurisdiction and refrain him from imposing fees on Web TV. Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, the committee chairman, said that there are already many restrictions on media.
