Sir: Those public sector organizations where a repeated extension has been granted to the chosen few persons in their contractual job after their retirement, unfortunately, those organizations are facing a monumental crisis both administrative and financial. Most of these repeatedly rehired persons do nothing. Never ever they are heard of discussing ideas like great minds, but discussing food menu and events like average minds or discussing staff personnel like small minds. These retired rehired persons never ever genuinely care about those around them and never take a keen interest in making them better, the entire organizational welfare. They always think for themselves- Their only concern is one more extension in their contract- of course, course, for more organizational chaos and financial crisis, not for employees’ welfare. They never show any empathy or compassion for the regular employees which is why an organized effort has been made to stop pension, benevolent fund, honorariums and Housing Building Advance facility for the regular employees, interalia. While granting them the repeated extension in their contractual job after retirement, the hiring and firing authority must inquire about their extraordinary sort of contribution which they have made during their first contract which others can’t. If not, then the graveyards are full of people the world could not do without. HASHIM ABRO Islamabad
