LAHORE: The second day of the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week began on Thursday at a local hotel. The entire media rubbed shoulders to lend their support and to be part of the prestigious fashion week. A total of five designers showcased, each bringing forth new trends of the upcoming bridal season. Mahgul The young designer showcased her Trunks of Sabine collection, which was rich in heavily-embroidered shararas, set in a colour palette of white, gold and beige, slowly and gradually transcending into hues of red and blue. The intricately-embellished palazzo pants of her collection were a key highlight. Duchess sleeves with embellished necklines paired with minimal jewellery stood out. We loved the cutwork pants and the beaded saris as well as the kaftans. Shiza Hassan The designer who debuted at the PLBW presented black sherwanis and short coats for men. Dainty bridals set in shades of peach and pink were displayed in the form of lehnga cholis and organza jackets. We loved the modern twist to desi bridals. Printed short coats for men atop blue kurtas looked bright and very unique. Off shoulder cholis seemed to be the new trend set. We particularly loved the slate kaftan top paired with embellished pants. Tennis star Aisamul Haq showstopped for the designer. Farah & Fatima Short jackets, halter mandarin collared tops, angrakhas and voluminous lehngas set in a wide colour palette of orange, pink, green and royal blue were featured during the designer duo’s collection. Sequined cholis with gota were the key features of their collection. Shamsha Hashwani Intricacy was seen at its finest during this designer’s collection. Straight jamawar pants paired with brightly-coloured knee-length shirts with floral embroidery drapes gave a chirpy look. Angrakhas, lehnga choli, short jackets, and Anarkali gowns were set in a colour palette of green, pink, beige and magenta. Saira Rizwan The designer displayed her Mademoiselle collection, which we loved for its subtle colour palette of mauve, teal green and silver shades. Flared pants, with halter mandarin collar tops were some of the highlights of the designer’s collection.
