The 50th anniversary of the forum opened up to 3000 participants from all over the world. The three women from Pakistan who were officially invited to speak on forum discussions as participants were Tania Aidrus (Head, Digital Pakistan Initiative, PM Secretariat), Ayla Majid, Managing Director, Financial Advisory Services of KMR (Khalid Majid Rehman) and Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (Chief Executive Officer, SOC Films). Invited as a media rep this year by the WEF was Haya Fatima Sehgal (Contributing Journalist to Daily Times) Dr. Anum Jawed Akhai (Group Director, MartinDow), was representing her own company, in the forum. She has been carrying on her late father’s legacy alongside her brother, in supporting Pakistani based events there in order to promote Pakistanis on a global scale. The Pakistanis at WEF also had privately moderated panel discussions on topics such as Education, Gender Parity and Inclusion. Guest speakers invited through MartinDow and the Pathfinder Group included Ayesha Nawaz Chaudhary (MPA Punjab Assembly) and Sadaffe Abid (CEO, Circle). Other notable female personalities at the WEF in the past have included speakers and representatives such as Benazir Bhutto, Malala, Dr. Sania Nishtar, Maleeha Lodhi, Sherry Rehman and Hina Rabbani Khar.
