Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on Thursday (January 16) confirmed that India will extend an invitation to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meet. Private source had reported on Wednesday that India will invite Imran Khan for the SCO summit. Confirming the report, Raveesh Kumar said, “As per the established practice and procedure within the SCO, all eight members of the SCO, as well as four observer states and other international dialogue partners will be invited to attend the meeting.” “The meeting is held annually at the prime minister’s level and it discusses the SCO’s program and multilateral economic and trade co-operation,” he said. “All eight members of the SCO, as well as four observer states and other international dialogue partners will be invited.”
