CHUNIAN: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Tuesday convicted Sohail Shahzad for kidnapping, raping and murdering a minor boy in Chunian and handed him the death sentences on three counts. The anti-terrorism court’s (ATC) Judge, Muhammad Iqbal, handed down the verdict to the 27-year-old rickshaw driver over the murder of only one of the four children, whose remains were recovered back in September. Sohail Shahzad was arrested on October 1 for raping and killing four children in Chunian. Faizan, Ali Hasnain, Salman Akram and Mohammad Imran were murdered after being sexually abused, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had confirmed at the time of Shahzad’s arrest. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had confirmed that the arrest of the suspect, saying that law enforcement agencies carried out geo-fencing of 1,649 suspects and conducted DNA tests of 1,543 citizens to unearth the identity of the culprit.
