Winters have arrived
In the cultural city which always thrives
With the light rays of the sun beaming upon the city
One feels a mystical and magical beauty
The haze can be seen in a short distance
As it mesmerizes someone in an instance
During the day vendors sell dry fruits and makai
When in the evenings people savor warm paye
Taking a walk in the night amongst the mist
It is a feeling of complete bliss
It is indeed a wonder to admire the walled city
As the temperature becomes even more nippy
There are complaints about the smog
Perhaps now people can no longer jog
I sit next to my window in Karachi writing these lines
With the sun reminding me of the Lahore shine
Oh the beauty of winters in Lahore
I just wish there could be more
The writer is based in Karachi.
