Corruption a serious internal threat to country: JI

Published on: November 7, 2016 3:15 AM

UPPER DIR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Provincial Ameer Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has said that in the presence of Pak Army, modern missile technology and atomic force, India would never dare to become a threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty and independence however, the country had been facing a serious internal threat to Pakistan in the shape of “corruption” as it had hollowed roots of the country.

He was addressing as a chief guest to the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Ameer JI, Upper Dir, at District Assembly Hall in Dir on Sunday. JI’s parliamentary leader in the National Assembly Sahibzada Tariqullah, KP’s senior minister, Inayatullah, MPA Muhammad Ali, provincial Naib Ameer JI, Maulana Asadullah, district nazim of Upper Dir, Sahibzada Faseehullah, tehsil nazimeen of Dir, Brawal and Kalkot, district Arakeen JI and others also attended the ceremony.

Mushtaq said that all the involved persons in the Panama Leaks papers should brought into justice and send them behind the bars soon. He said that the Supreme Court had taken a right step toward it and the JI would do full cooperation with SC in that particular case. He said that the JI’s central Ameer, Sirajul Haq had said one before to give route to judiciary in the Panama Leaks scandal and his stance proven right after the SC action against the case.

The JI provincial Ameer criticized federal government saying that the federal government had kept foot on KP’s neck and it was not giving to KP of its electricity profit which is KP’s constitutional right. “Federal government has kept KP deprived from progress intentionally for 30-40 years”, said Mushtaq Ahmad Khan. He said that due to corruption the government had to pay up to 65 per cent of the total profit into interest of loans taken from abroad, adding that owing to that corruption the Green passport had lost its value internationally.

JI’s Ameer said that the Prime Minister had made clear in the all parties conference that the CPEC project would be a purely a ‘western project’ and its route would pass through western areas in which Malakand division also come. However, the federal government and PM had changed the route and CPEC was making to give full benefit to Punjab and KP was being kept deprived from it. He said that the proposal of multiple passages was not accept to the people of KP because in that particular proposal the KP’s people could only filling air into the tyres of China’s vehicles. “We reject the multiple passage proposal because there is no single developmental project include into it”, said Mushtaq Ahmad.

Mushtaq said that the people of the FATA had never been considered not human nor Pakistanis according to the constitution of the Pakistan. He said that they had been keeping deprived from progress right from the start. Mushtaq said that JI demanded of merging of FATA into KP before the 2018 general election that they could get representation in the provincial assembly.

He said that Pak army had restored peace in Malakand division after giving lots of sacrifices and then the federal government should focus on its rehabilitation and make roads, schools, hospitals and other infrastructure and also pay compensation to affected people of the Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Swat and others areas.

The JI Ameer directed to workers to start their campaign for 2018 general election from now as he predicted it would be the toughest of the elections in Pakistan.

He claimed that JI would win more seats in the 2018’s election in KP and it would be in the strong position of making a coalition government which JI would lead the government.

MNA Sahibzada Tariqullah, senior minister, Inayatullah Khan, MPA, Muhammad Ali, district nazim of Upper Dir, Sahibzada Faseehullah and others also spoke at the occasion.
