Alhamra Arts Council Executive Director Ather Ali Khan along with Alhamra Art Centre Arts & Culture Director Zulfiqar Ali Zulfi on Wednesday visited the globally recognised stand-up comedian and actor Amanullah Khan who is undergoing treatment at his residence in Lahore. Executive Director Ather Ali Khan presented him a bouquet of flowers and prayed for his early recovery. He recognised the services of Amanullah Khan by saying that there is no doubt that when it comes to stand-up comedy; no one can hold a candle to him. He further said that Amanullah, through his unique style, proved that quality comedy was possible without any dual meaning slangs. Amanullah thanked the executive director of Lahore Arts Council and said that as long as we had people like Ather Ali Khan, our cultural heritage was in safe hands. Separately, an art competition of regarding Kashmir was held at Alhamra. Minister for Information and Culture Punjab Mian Aslam Iqbal, will be the chief guest of the event who will distrusts the cash prizes to the eighth lucky winners of the contest. The competition is being organized by the Lahore Arts Council aimed at promoting the “Kashmiris Struggle Movement”. The Lahore Arts Council had invited people from all Pakistan to participate in this competition. More than 80 artists of “Kashmir Bleeds” across the country are participating in the competition. The basic purpose of this competition is to highlight solidarity with the people of Kashmir. Executive Director LAC Ather Ali Khan said that not only the Lahore Arts Council but, the entire nation of Pakistan is standing with people of Kashmir and we salute to Kashmiri people for their fight against brutal Indian armed forces by organizing this art competition. Lahore Arts Council will continue to arrange different programmes to express unity with the people of Kashmir, he added.
