Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Maleeha Lodhi, on Sunday, lauded the administration of Lahore Literary Festival (LLF) New York for successfully holding the fourth edition.
She said this while inaugurating the international festival where she noted that cultural activities helped highlight the positive image of any country. The annual organisation of the literary festival was proof of Pakistan’s cultural development, Lodhi maintained.
The festival hosted discussions on various topics of cultural and art activities.
While addressing the event, the envoy asserted that LLF New York highlighted creative experiences of the country across the world.
One of South Asia’s premier cultural events, the Lahore Literary Festival (LLF), has returned to Asia Society New York for the fourth year in a row.
Called the “safe place for dangerous ideas” by The Guardian, LLF invites writers, artists, and commentators to speak on issues affecting Pakistan as well as the world.
It aims to present the US audience with a more nuanced view of Pakistan; spiced with discussions on fiction and nonfiction writing; art; architecture; history and politics.
