KARACHI: SSGC’s collaboration with Thardeep Rural Development Program (TRDP) has continued successfully with the inauguration of a number of solar-driven projects in Tharparkar villages. SSGC funded these projects as part of its vibrant CSR Program. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of SSGC and TRDP, the villages of Ounro Bheel, Ganga Vaaree and Gaddo jo Vandh were given an ingenious facility of solar-powered water pumps and domestic electrical devices that run purely on solar power. In a simple yet impressive ceremony held in the picturesque town of Tharparkar, Shahbaz Islam, Head of Corporate Communications and Dr. Ashok Kumar Bakhtani, Manager Operation TRDP light a bulb that ran on solar energy, to inaugurate the project. SSGC’s Salman Siddiqui, Dy. General Manager (Corporate Communication Department), Muhammad Ali Gohar, Chief Manager (Media Relations) and TRDP’s Ali Ahmed Junejo and Engineer Shayam were also present during the ceremony.
