KARACHI: The Counter terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to arrest the main facilitator of the attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi from Sharjah on Tuesday. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CTD Abdullah Sheikh informed that at the time of attack on the Chinese consulate the facilitator was present in Karachi. The police sources underscored that the facilitator had received Rs0.9 million for the attack which he distributed to the attackers. The DIG further added that the facilitator also has links in foreign countries and was arrested on CTD’s identification. Earlier on November 23, security forces foiled an attack on the Chinese consulate located in the Clifton area of Karachi. Security personnel killed the attackers, recovering suicide jackets and ammunition. Two policemen were martyred in the attack, while staff at the consulate was unhurt.
