Be a Pakistani, not a myrmidon!

Published on: November 26, 2018 2:08 AM

We have no dearth of cult followers as every political party member try to proof his leader as benevolent celestial being who lacks sinning sensibilities. Although the fact dictates that no one is saint among them. Besides, modus operandi of this kind overrides good sense and discernment. Everyone has his share in usurping the rights of general public. Some of them already did that while some are busy in doing it. The ultimate outcome is that all are made up of the same cloth, you can’t distinct one from the other when it comes to unscrupulousness.

Such scenario demands that we the general public should judge the political parties and leaders on merit. Our main concern should be that how much a party or leader is sincere with the country. To make it more clear, a party or leader who contemplates over the well being of people, state’s constitution and democratic values should be supported. Instead of party affiliations we ought to value the principle stance of parties. We should never see things in a distorted light. Here we can’t find all these specification in a single party or leader. As all of them have some deficiencies which make them vulnerable to criticism. In this stream of argument, we can go case to case and stick up for those who practically demonstrate any one of the aforementioned pro-people traits.  It might be possible that one party or leader remain uncompromising on democratic sustainability and the other is stern supporter of across the board accountability. Now on principle we should side with both of them for their right stand on different matters. But we should also have the courage to censure them for their wrongdoings.

This type of politicization calls for our neutral analysis of the parties and leaders. We should only assess them for their principle stance on matters related to the well being of general public, state constitution and consistency of democracy. Bluntly put the followers of political parties should stop acting like a mechanical being. As it would help in hacking away at the budding culture of abuse and mudslinging at each other, which is commonplace these days. To add to it, being true Patriots we need to shed myrmidon an tendencies, and stand up with parties case to case as no one of them can meet all the expectations we have from them. We need to assess their performances on the criteria based on three principles that includes people, constitution and democracy.

The cult followers are like brainless zombies who are devoid of contemplating abilities. Such approach on the part followers should be dispensed with on account of its far more perilous spillover effects. Alternatively they should put their wit and wisdom into service and back political parties according to their stance on matters that are significant for the well-being of our country

All in all, we can’t afford to take up cudgels for a single political party or leader, for it has brought the country to the verge of destruction. As it inculcates division among the general public. This disperses the attention of common people from the grave issues they confront on daily basis. Additionally, they give up principles for the sake of cult following and behave like blindfolded beings. In other words the cult followers are like brainless zombies who are devoid of contemplating abilities. Such approach on the part followers should be dispensed with on account of its far more perilous spillover effects. Alternatively they should put their wit and wisdom into service and back political parties according to their stance on matters that are significant for the well-being of our country.
