The supporters of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) took to the streets across major cities of Pakistan on Wednesday after Supreme Court (SC) acquitted Aasia Bibi, a Christian woman sentenced to death over blasphemy allegations. According to details, various roads have been blocked by the protesters including the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway and GT Road, media reported. The Section 144 has been imposed by the Punjab Home Department which prohibit the gathering of more than four persons in an public area. It has been imposed across the province from October 31 to November 10. In Peshawar, protests are being staged at the Ring Road, GT Road, Jamil Chowk, and outside the Peshawar Press Club. Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat said via his Twitter account that Bara Kahu, Tarnol, and Kashmir Highway were open for traffic while Aabpara chowk and Faizabad areas were blocked. Moreover, Islamabad to Motorway was also opened. Bara Kahu, Tarnol and Kashmir Highway is open for traffic. Commuters may carry on with their usual plan.
