Pakistan-Sri Lanka Armed Forces Defence Dialogue will open in Colombo from October 3.
The purpose of the annual dialogue is to review and enhance existing defence, security and strategic cooperation between two south Asian countries.
Defence Secretary Lt Gen (r) Ikramul Haq along with a high-level delegation with senior representatives from three armed forces will represent Pakistan in the dialogue.
Ikramul Haq along with a high-level delegation will leave for Colombo today.
Sri Lanka Defence Ministry Secretary Kapila Waidayyarathne will represent his country in the dialogue.
Besides participating in the Pakistan-Sri Lanka Armed Forces Defence Dialogue, Gen Ikram will meet his Sri Lankan counterpart Kapila Waidayyarathne to discuss matters related to security, defence and military cooperation between the two countries. Sources told Daily Times that the Pakistan’s defence secretary will also hold meetings with Chief of Defence Staff Admiral RC Wijegunaratne and commanders of Sri Lankan tri-forces.
