An international conference on Social Sciences and Humanities was held at Kinnaird College for Women University, Lahore, in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) from April 25 to 26. The three-day-event gave opportunity to the academic veterans and students to interact in order to exchange views over areas of mutual interest. The organisers say the conference aimed at enhancing existing knowledge about different fields of study and open a window towards awareness of important topics regarding social sciences and humanities. The third day of the conference started off with a guest talk by Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) Social Sciences Dean Dr. Muhammad Waseem followed by speeches of keynote speakers including Dr. Horace Ortiz, Lisa Slater and medical anthropologist Dr. Praticia A. Omidian. Mr. Sajjad Imran graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Vice Principal Kinnaird College Dr. Nikhat Khan addressed the conference and thanked the participants for making it a success. About 300 research papers from 40 different universities of Pakistan were presented on various disciplines of social sciences and humanities in 20 technical sessions. Certificates were distributed and an award ceremony was held for the presenters, participants and organising committee of the conference. The conference concluded with a cultural night and dinner arranged by Kinnaird College. Principal Kinnaird College Dr. Rukhsana David appreciated the efforts and dedication of the organising team. The conference served to endorse top professionals of the academic space who stride to encourage healthy interaction and enhance understanding for the students.
