RAHIM YAR KHAN: Awami Muslim League (AML) head Sheikh Rasheed on Friday said that prosperity within the country is not possible until all ‘corrupt’ politicians are held accountable. “Nawaz Sharif has looted the country. The large scale corruption in the country even halted the CPEC project. Pakistan would not witness prosperity until corrupt politicians and individuals are held accountable,” Sheikh Rasheed said while speaking at a press conference in Rahim Yar Khan. Continuing his tirade against the Sharif family, Sheikh Rasheed said that “in an age when other children are granted identity cards, Nawaz’s children became billionaires.” The AML chief also complained that despite “knowing that certain elements are corrupt and despite being deprived of basic necessities of life”, the public elects the same people to power via vote. Referring to former PM Nawaz, Rasheed said that Nawaz has zero respect for vote. “Nawaz Sharif is busy campaigning in favour of the sanctity of vote, but he himself is the worst example of disrespecting the vote,” he added. “The ruling government has been punished by the Almighty for trying to amend the law regarding the finality of the Prophethood,” he stressed.
