LAHORE: Awami Muslim League (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad on Tuesday said that the politics of former PM Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s government is based on lies. “Nawaz and PML-N politics is based on lies and the day Nawaz starts speaking the truth, his politics would come to an end,” Sheikh Rasheed said while speaking at a ceremony in Lahore. The AML chief further said that during the past, party leaders used to act as party workers, but now, he added, party leaders only prioritise tickets. He added that “we have faced imprisonment for upholding truth and honesty.” Continuing his jabs at the ruling government, Sheikh Rasheed said that the PML-N government is talking about development while “there is no clean drinking water, the public is being provided adulterated milk, underemployment is at peak and there are severe energy crisis.” He also criticised the judicial system of the country saying that “it is too slow and the cases are heard over generations.” He added that the youth of the country does not have a leader they could trust anymore.
