Nida Yasir credits mother for strong marriage

Nida Yasir reveals her mother's advice that helped save her marriage - The Tribune International

KARACHI: Pakistani television host Nida Yasir has revealed that her late mother played a key role in helping her build and maintain a strong marriage, sharing personal insights from her two-decade-long relationship with actor and producer Yasir Nawaz.

Speaking on her morning show, Nida said that during the early years of her marriage, she was highly emotional and often reacted quickly to disagreements or family-related issues. Whenever she faced a problem involving her husband or in-laws, she would immediately turn to her mother for support and express her frustrations.

According to Nida, her mother listened patiently to her concerns but never formed a negative opinion about her husband based solely on emotional complaints made in moments of anger.

She explained that her mother understood that arguments between spouses are a normal part of married life and that couples often reconcile after disagreements. This balanced approach, she said, helped prevent unnecessary tensions and strengthened her relationship over time.

Nida noted that while a husband and wife may resolve their differences and move forward, family members can sometimes continue to hold grudges if they become overly involved in personal disputes. She credited her mother’s wisdom and restraint for preventing such situations in her own life.

Reflecting on her experience, the television host also offered advice to young women navigating marital challenges. She suggested that when feeling upset or angry, it may be better to speak with a trusted and sensible friend rather than immediately involving family members.

According to Nida, many conflicts can be eased simply by sharing one’s feelings with someone reliable and gaining perspective before taking further action. She added that emotional support and thoughtful communication can help reduce stress and contribute to healthier relationships.
