Rescue 1122 teams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday safely rescued 12 people stranded in Indus River and successfully contained a massive mountain fire after 29-hour operation. According to Media Coordinator Rescue 1122 Swabi, the water rescue operation was launched near Batakara area of Topi tehsil where all 12 trapped individuals were safely brought back to shore. Meanwhile, in Swat district, a fierce mountain fire that erupted in Parrai area of Barikot tehsil was finally brought under control. The firefighting operation was carried out by Rescue 1122 Swat in close cooperation with Forest Department, Civil Defense, and members of local community. Despite facing severe challenges including steep and difficult mountainous terrain, intense heat, and strong winds the teams managed to prevent flames from spreading further and completely extinguished the blaze. Following the operation, rescue workers completed a thorough cooling and monitoring process in affected area to ensure fire would not reignite.
