
Lanka Premier League has completed registrations for overseas players ahead of the 2026 season, with 650 cricketers signing up for the tournament. Among them, 102 players are from Pakistan, reflecting strong interest from Pakistani talent in the Sri Lankan franchise league. The registrations include players from 21 different countries.
According to Sri Lanka Cricket, a total of 310 players will be shortlisted for the official LPL draft. The board said registrations were received from players representing both ICC full-member nations and associate countries. Franchises will select their squads from the shortlisted pool during the upcoming draft process.

The significant number of Pakistani registrations has attracted attention from cricket fans across the region. Pakistani players have consistently performed well in previous LPL seasons and remain popular choices among franchises. Therefore, several teams are expected to target experienced Pakistani cricketers during the draft.
Sri Lanka Cricket confirmed that the official draft for LPL 2026 will take place on June 1. Meanwhile, the tournament’s opening match is scheduled for July 17, while the final will be played on August 8. Additional announcements regarding teams and player categories are expected in the coming weeks.
