During the visit, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet provincial leadership and review the broader political, governance and security landscape in the province.

A key part of the visit includes chairing a meeting of the provincial Apex Committee under the National Action Plan (NAP), where officials are set to discuss matters related to law and order, governance reforms and development initiatives.

The meeting is expected to bring together civilian and military leadership to assess current challenges and policy priorities in Balochistan.

The visit comes amid continued focus on security and long-term stability in the province, where authorities have repeatedly linked sustainable peace with stronger governance and inclusive development.

Separately, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir also visited Quetta, where he addressed officers and faculty members at the Command and Staff College.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Munir emphasised that durable peace in Balochistan depends on a people-centred approach, socio-economic development and improved governance alongside security operations.

He also highlighted the changing nature of modern warfare and stressed the importance of adapting to emerging technologies, multi-domain operations and future battlefield challenges.

During his address, the army chief praised the institution’s training standards, professionalism and intellectual development of officers.

Officials say the prime minister’s visit reflects the federal government’s continued engagement with Balochistan on both security and development fronts.

Balochistan remains strategically significant for Pakistan due to its geography, natural resources and connectivity projects, making stability and governance in the province a key national priority.
