The initiative has been widely welcomed in Balochistan, where people expressed gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for extending educational support beyond provincial boundaries. Many see it as a positive step toward strengthening inter-provincial cooperation and ensuring equal educational opportunities.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti also praised the programme, stating that joint efforts between the Punjab and Balochistan education endowment funds have created new pathways for talented students to pursue quality education. He described the scholarship initiative as an important milestone for the province’s youth.
He further said the programme will help improve educational standards and ensure that students from low-income families are not deprived of opportunities that were previously limited to privileged groups. He highlighted that in the past, access to top educational institutions was often restricted to wealthy families.
Bugti added that the current government is committed to ensuring that children from ordinary households in Balochistan have equal access to quality education. He pointed to examples of students from modest backgrounds gaining admission to leading national institutions as signs of positive change.
