National Assembly (NA) Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that Pakistan had started moving towards stability and progress, crediting the leadership for taking difficult decisions in challenging circumstances.
Addressing a ceremony here on Sunday, he said the previous government had not focused on development, adding that the current leadership prioritised public welfare and infrastructure. He expressed gratitude to PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for allocating Rs38 billion development funds for his constituency. He said that with continued efforts, road infrastructure across Punjab was expected to be completed by the end of the current year, adding that sincere intentions and consistent efforts lead to progress.
The speaker said the coalition government formed after 2022 faced difficult economic and political conditions, but made tough decisions to stabilise the country and lay the foundation for improvement. He added that the leadership worked collectively to restore Pakistan’s dignity at the international level.
He said Pakistan maintained balanced relations with major countries including China, the United States, Russia and Iran, while emphasising that national interests remained paramount. He appreciated the role of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the national leadership for their diplomatic engagement during recent global tensions, saying that Pakistan played a constructive role in promoting peace and dialogue.
The speaker said the country’s leadership, including economic and security officials, worked with dedication in difficult times, resulting in gradual improvement in national stability. He added that the government remained committed to strengthening institutions, promoting development and ensuring Pakistan’s positive image globally.
The speaker said that national progress required collective efforts, adding that Pakistan today stands with dignity among nations due to the commitment and vision of its leadership.
