Farhan accumulated an impressive 383 runs in seven matches, batting in six innings at an outstanding average of 76.60. Moreover, he struck at a remarkable strike rate of 160.25, highlighting his aggressive approach at the top of the order. His performances included two centuries and two half-centuries, making him one of the most consistent and impactful batters during the tournament. These achievements ultimately helped him secure the prestigious monthly award.
In addition, Farhan broke a long-standing record previously held by Virat Kohli for the most runs scored in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. The Pakistani opener also created history by becoming the first batter to score two centuries in a single global event in the shortest format. He reached the three-figure mark against Namibia and Sri Lanka, producing innings that showcased both composure and attacking brilliance.

One of the highlights of his campaign was a record-breaking 176-run partnership with fellow Pakistan batter Fakhar Zaman. The stand became the highest partnership for any wicket in T20 International history and played a vital role in Pakistan’s narrow five-run victory against Sri Lanka during the tournament. However, despite several impressive performances, Pakistan failed to reach the semi-finals because of an inferior net run rate.
Reacting to the achievement, Farhan said winning the ICC award felt incredibly special because it came through performances on the World Cup stage. He added that playing in front of global audiences made the recognition even more meaningful. The opener also thanked his teammates for their constant support and expressed determination to carry the same momentum into future international competitions.
The award marks the first time Farhan has won the monthly honour from the International Cricket Council. Furthermore, he climbed to second place in the latest ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after his outstanding century against Sri Lanka in Pallekele. Farhan was also named in the ICC Team of the Tournament after posting scores of 47, 73, 0, 100, 63 and an unbeaten 100 across his seven-match campaign.
