Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday rejected Afghan Taliban claims of a Pakistani attack on a hospital. He said the accusations come from those who have historically targeted mosques and innocent civilians. The statement highlights continuing tensions between Pakistan and the Afghan regime, affecting regional trust and security.
Asif wrote on social media platform X that Pakistan has made mistakes in its 78-year history, but long-term hospitality toward Afghans was the greatest. He called on Allah to forgive the country for these past errors. He stressed Pakistan’s intentions have always been peaceful and humanitarian.

He added the accusations are coming from groups that attack mosques, kill worshippers, target markets, schools, and innocent children. He emphasized that such actors cannot credibly accuse Pakistan of aggression, given their own violent history in Afghanistan and against civilians.

The minister also criticized Taliban-linked smugglers, stating that Pakistan has sheltered these individuals for fifty years. He claimed those granted refuge often violate commitments and demand ransom or financial compensation, despite receiving billions in aid from Pakistan over decades.

Asif concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability while rejecting false narratives. He warned that Pakistan will continue to hold accountable anyone attempting to malign the country through fabricated claims or attacks on civilians.
