Punjab government aircraft flies to Vienna for technical inspection

Published on: March 13, 2026 5:14 PM

Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari clarified that the Punjab government’s aircraft traveled to Vienna for a scheduled technical inspection. She emphasized that the move was routine and part of contractual obligations. Bokhari stated that recent speculation surrounding the flight is false and regrettable, urging the public to focus on constructive matters rather than baseless rumors. Authorities said the inspection ensures the aircraft meets all safety and operational standards.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Azma Bokhari explained that periodic technical inspections are a standard requirement for government aircraft. These inspections are designed to verify airworthiness and operational safety, ensuring that officials can travel safely for government-related duties. She said that following proper maintenance schedules is critical to avoid operational risks and maintain high safety standards.

The minister added that rumors about the aircraft being flown for any other purpose are completely unfounded. She highlighted that technical inspections have always been part of government contracts with aircraft operators. Bokhari urged citizens and media to verify facts before spreading misinformation that can cause unnecessary confusion. Officials reinforced that the aircraft inspection in Vienna is routine and follows international aviation standards.

Bokhari further explained that technical inspections typically include thorough checks of engines, avionics systems, and overall aircraft performance. She emphasized that such measures are not extraordinary but a standard practice worldwide. According to her, ensuring aircraft reliability is a priority, and the Punjab government takes every precaution to uphold operational integrity and passenger safety during official missions.
