Pakistan cyber force hacks Indian channel in bold retaliatory strike

Published on: March 2, 2026 3:49 PM

Pakistan’s cyber force successfully hacked the Indian news channel ABP News, broadcasting “Pakistan Zindabad” slogans and military content, including segments of a speech by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir. The operation marks a significant demonstration of Pakistan’s cyber capabilities and digital warfare readiness. Officials described the strike as precise, aimed at sending a clear message amid heightened regional tensions.

Following the breach, the channel’s regular programming was replaced with content highlighting Pakistan’s military strength, including operations, achievements, and statements by senior leadership. Analysts noted that such cyber strikes are increasingly being used as strategic tools to assert influence and counter perceived threats in the information domain. The move also reflects the evolving nature of modern conflict where cyberspace plays a crucial role.

Security experts confirmed that the cyber attack was part of a broader retaliatory strategy, likely in response to prior digital provocations. Pakistan’s cyber force demonstrated its ability to infiltrate foreign media networks and broadcast content aligned with national security objectives. Authorities emphasized that such operations are conducted under strict oversight and as a measured defensive tactic.

The attack has escalated digital tensions between Pakistan and India, highlighting vulnerabilities in critical media infrastructure. Cyber analysts warned that media networks have become prime targets in geopolitical disputes, as information dissemination and narrative control are increasingly considered strategic assets. Both countries are expected to strengthen cybersecurity protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Officials highlighted that Pakistan’s cyber operations aim to safeguard national interests while minimizing broader escalation risks. The strike was designed to boost morale domestically and reinforce the country’s deterrence posture. Government authorities emphasized that the cyber force will continue to operate proactively to counter hostile digital activities against Pakistan.

Analysts say the ABP News hack underscores the growing role of cyber warfare in regional conflicts. Nations are now prioritizing digital defense, real-time monitoring, and rapid-response capabilities to protect media, communications, and critical infrastructure. This incident signals a new chapter in Pakistan-India digital confrontations, with cyberspace becoming a frontline of strategic operations.
