
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will travel to New York on February 18 to attend a high-level United Nations Security Council briefing on Palestine. The meeting, chaired by the United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary as Security Council President, will focus on the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank.
According to the Foreign Office, Dar will reaffirm Pakistan’s principled and consistent stance on the Palestinian issue. He is expected to strongly oppose Israel’s recent moves to expand control over the West Bank and emphasize the need for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

Dar will also call for full implementation of Security Council Resolution 2803, increased humanitarian assistance for affected civilians, and the immediate launch of Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction process. His intervention will highlight Pakistan’s support for Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The deputy prime minister will underline Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic engagement with international and regional partners, including the Group of Eight Arab and Islamic countries and the United States, to achieve a just and lasting peace based on international law.

On the sidelines of his visit, Dar is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with foreign counterparts to discuss matters of mutual interest, further strengthening Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and support for a peaceful resolution in the region.
