All seven members of BTS were discharged from mandatory military service last year, and the band is set to release a new album, ARIRANG, on March 20. A free comeback concert will be held at central Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square the following day, before the group embarks on a world tour.
“BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG will stream live exclusively on Netflix March 21,” the company said. The livestream will allow fans worldwide to experience the concert in real time.

The upcoming album, ARIRANG, named after a traditional Korean folk song about longing and separation, will be BTS’ first since Proof, the anthology that became South Korea’s bestselling record of 2022. Netflix described the new release as containing “a deep reflection on the team’s origins and identity.” In addition, a documentary titled BTS: THE RETURN, exploring the band’s post-military comeback, will premiere on March 27.
BTS’ world tour, beginning in April, will cover 34 cities with 79 shows — the largest single tour ever by a K-pop group in terms of total performances and geographic reach, according to label HYBE.
BTS remains an economic powerhouse in South Korea. Before their military service, the group generated over 5.5 trillion Korean won ($3.8 billion) annually for the country, equivalent to 0.2 percent of the national GDP. Shares of HYBE, the band’s label, rose 2.5 percent in Seoul morning trade following the announcement.
