Ahmed Ali Butt sparks debate with strong criticism of Javed Akhtar

Published on: January 29, 2026 3:50 PM

Renowned Pakistani actor and comedian Ahmed Ali Butt has openly criticized Indian poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar, questioning whether respect shown to Indian artists is ever truly returned. His comments quickly gained attention on social media, as fans and critics alike reacted to his blunt views.

Meanwhile, Butt shared these remarks during his YouTube podcast, where he often discusses trending national and international topics. He stated that in his opinion, Javed Akhtar has lost his artistic value and now represents more controversy than meaningful contribution to art.

Furthermore, Ahmed recalled Akhtar’s recent visit to Pakistan, during which he received warm hospitality and public respect. However, Butt claimed that Akhtar later made negative remarks about Pakistan, which he felt damaged the spirit of cultural exchange.

In addition, Butt said this experience made him realize that respect from certain Indian figures is not mutual. He argued that goodwill should be a two-way effort and that one-sided admiration often leads to disappointment and public frustration.

Moreover, Ahmed Ali Butt clarified that he considers himself a peaceful person and does not support unnecessary hostility. However, he added that when gestures of respect are met with criticism, public response and even trolling become understandable reactions.

Finally, his comments have reignited a broader debate about cross-border cultural relations and the responsibilities of influential artists. Many viewers now await further reactions, as the discussion continues to divide opinions across both entertainment industries.
