In addition to the app, a modern track-and-trace system has been implemented in collaboration with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to monitor oil tankers, terminals, and retail outlets through an integrated digital network.
The initiative also includes the installation of automatic tank gauges and digital nozzles at petrol pumps, ensuring accurate measurement and monitoring of fuel quantity and quality.
The Directorate General of Petroleum Concessions (DGPC) will also introduce a new online portal to increase transparency in the bidding process for oil and gas exploration and production blocks.
Moreover, an Explosives Track-and-Trace System has been made operational to monitor the explosives supply chain in real-time, with two phases of the project already completed.
Amendments to the Petroleum Act, 1934 have strengthened enforcement against illegal petroleum trade, introducing provisions for heavy fines and confiscation for unauthorized sale and transportation of petroleum products.
