Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has reminded vehicle owners that the grace period for M-Tag installation will end on January 15, with no further extension under consideration. Enforcement of the policy will begin immediately after the deadline.
Authorities reported that over 150,000 vehicles have received M-Tags from 16 designated centers across Islamabad, with 2,965 vehicles tagged in the last 24 hours alone. Officials urged citizens to complete registration before the final day to avoid penalties.

From January 16 onward, vehicles entering or moving within the city without a valid M-Tag will face strict action. The enforcement drive aims to ensure compliance, manage traffic flow, and improve monitoring at entry and exit points.
To support the initiative, M-Tag readers have been installed at 12 key checkpoints across the capital. These readers will detect vehicles without tags, allowing authorities to stop and process non-compliant vehicles according to established rules.

Officials emphasized that the M-Tag registration process is simple and requires minimal documents. Additional staff has been deployed at centers to handle the expected rush, and residents are advised to avoid last-minute visits to prevent delays.
The district administration reiterated that the campaign is part of a broader effort to regulate traffic and maintain accurate vehicle records in Islamabad. Citizens were urged to cooperate and complete registration to ensure smooth travel after enforcement begins.
