Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has dismissed social media claims alleging the country is being used as a base for a possible US strike on Iran. The fact-check account on X said the reports are propaganda circulated by Afghan and Indian accounts.
Posts by accounts including Khurasan Media Urdu, Afghan Defense, and Baba Banaras claimed US refuelling and surveillance aircraft were operating from Pakistan to prepare for attacks on Iran. The claims cited unusual flight activity and presence at Dalbandin and Pasni airbases.

The ministry clarified that while US aerial refuelling activity has increased, it is linked to Europe, not Pakistan. Reuters and The Washington Post reports confirm aircraft movements to European bases, not Pakistani airbases. No credible evidence supports Pakistan-to-Iran operational flights.

The Information Ministry reiterated that Pakistan had publicly condemned US strikes on Iran and has not facilitated any military operations. It labeled the claims “reckless” and “disinformation,” aimed at dragging Pakistan into the US-Iran conflict.

The claims come amid heightened tensions between the US and Iran. President Trump has threatened military options over protests in Iran, while Tehran insists it is prepared for war but open to fair negotiations. Pakistan’s denial underscores its stance of non-involvement in the potential conflict.
